Our Vizsla lines started with the joining of Varazs Vizslas and Legacy Vizslas, with two breedings by Varazs Vizslas, breeder Sylvia Dorosh.
Our first Vizsla was Rex - Varazs Blackbullet On The Wing. He carried Legacy Kennel as his sire via Emerald Legacy's Prime Time - Mickey.
Our second Vizsla was Amber, Varazs On Point At Blackbullet. She carried Legacy Kennel as her sire..the son of Rex's sire, as Legacy's Rhythm N Blues - Rowdy.
In 2003 I went to Pennsylvania to Legacy Kennel and brought home Remmie - Legacy's Leaps and Bounds. He was bred to Amber, bringing in the Legacy kennels on both sides of our pedigree.
In 2007 I had the wonderful honour of being present at the Vizsla Club of America's national specialty in Omaha, Nebraska. Although the show was wonderful...how could it not be with over 300 Vs in attendance, the highlight was the opportunity to be with Diane Shearer of Legacy Vizslas as one of her dogs was recognized as the first ever AKC registered dog to acquire 5 Championship titles and to enter the Vizsla Club of America Hall of Fame. That dog was named Chartay - FCH AFC MACH OTCH CH Legacy's
DeChartay UDX, MH, VC, HOF
But that was not the end of the excitement for Diane. Below is a photo taken on the day that Chartay's portrait photo was hung in the AKC national gallery. Diane Shearer, breeder of Chartay is on the immediate right of Chartay's photo while the owners and trainers of this wonderful dog Jack and Betty Sharkey,
are on the left. Kitty Pullen is to the right of Diane.
Thank you to Diane Shearer and Jayne Adams for permission to use this photo!
