Visitor this week

This cute pup called 'Snuff"   has come to visit us for a week. She is a great pup, so loving  and  soft in her temperament. She has been a favourite pup of ours since we first met her a few years ago. We were thrilled to be asked to care for her for a while. 

I do think she that when she is cuddling up with us she is giving the eye to Sydney, saying ' See I can be in this place with this human too'. Sydney seems to be saying ' Hey what do you think you are doing? That is my person!' They are getting along well.

Top Dog Award Certificate

I wasn't sure if CKC still sent out certificates for top dogs for a the year but today we received Syndey's Top Dog Award certificate. It is a nice recognition of her accomplishment!  She was undefeated in the breed, was always breeder/owner handled and was entered in only a few shows in the year.

It is official - Gr. Championship title certificate arrived

We have received Sydney's Grand Champion Certificate.
Sydney also has many points towards her Grand Champion Excellent status with her many group placements. However, at this time,  Sydney has entered semi- retirement unless a judge comes along that I really want to see her.   I know we are blessed to share our lives with her each day.

Sydney, Gr. Ch. Blackbullet's Waltzing Matilda, winning her Grand Championship title and Group 1. Sydney is always breeder, owner handled by Sherryanne Farr.

Quinn, Blackbullet's Mighty Quinn winning his first 4 championship points trained and handled by his owner Abe Suclin. They have both come a long way in the last year!

Sydney is number 4 Vizsla in Canada in 2013 - undefeated in the breed

It is official..
The Canadian Kennel Club has announced our Vizsla Sydney, undefeated in the breed ring last year and with only 13 ring experiences in 2013, is number 4 Vizsla in Canada for 2013 with 178 points, all points system.

 She was always breeder/owner handled by me. Although this was never a goal for us with Sydney, it is a nice notation on her accomplishments. She is not an easy dog to show but she keeps me on my toes in the ring.

Sydney follows in her mother's footsteps who was number one female V in Canada in 2005 and brings back memories of our Rex who was number 3 V in 1998 and number 4 in 1999.  

In Western Canada where we have very few Vizsla in the show ring, we were lucky to have some visitors from Oklahoma in 2013 to give us some more breed competition. Most of Sydney's points had to come from group placements; not an easy task for an owner/handler of such a breed in large groups. 

We know we were lucky to have some judges recognize her  qualities and pull her into their group placements. 

Sydney is the best moving Vizsla I have bred. She is as light as a feather on the end of the leash, her top line remains very still and she uses  all her angles and strength  to float around the ring. Sydney is triple bred on her mother's side on the fantastic moving dog Emerald Legacy's Prime Time who took my breath away the first time I saw him move around the ring. She is the only dog I have had or bred who also covers ground like he did and she also takes my breath away.

Judge Olga Gagne found Sydney in the group ring to award her second place.  It was a nice ending to our first show weekend since October 2013. 

News

Angus from our 2012 litter in his cave bed he loves.

 Khyber from our 2009 litter (who lives with Chance from our 2007 litter) is enjoying their  Arizona days with their family as a get away from the snow holiday.

Chance from our 2004 and Zsofi from our 2007 litter are spending part of their March get away in Florida with their Mom and the horses.

 Chance from our 2007 litter is joining Khyber from our 2009 litter in Arizona.

Rogue from our 2012 litter is already able to get into the field for some bird work..looking great our little one!

This past weekend was our first jump back into the show ring for Sydney ( 2010 litter) and Quinn (2012 litter). They both did very well considering it has been 5 months since their last ring experience. Sydney brought home a group 2 ribbon win so she has started the year fairly well. Quinn is starting to come into himself and is starting his more advanced handling skill building.

The weather  has finally warmed up enough for great outside play time for Remi, Jewel and Sydney.

Chance, Remi, Sydney,

Chance ( 2007 litter) in both photos above,  is enjoying the southern climate for a while with his family. It will be a great break from the winter on N. Vancouver Island . Thank you owners for thinking of sharing these photos with us!

 Remi ( 2012 litter) has come to visit for a while. He is not keen on the very cold weather we have been having but with the expected warming trend, he should get to run around outside soon. 

Inside activities include body slamming with Sydney, barking at ghosts, racing through the kitchen and getting lots of cuddle time with Grandma breeder. Doggie Grandma Jewel is not too sure that she needs these two playing in her area!

Jewel seems to think that she who collects the most stuffies wins the day. Sometimes she will try to sleep on her stack of  treasures but often she just does it to see if she can get Sydney to want one of them.

Sydney seems to think one good stuffie to suck on is pure bliss. We love to see her do this as it takes us back to her Grandpa Remmie who was our first toy sucker.  Sydney's Grandma Amber and Mom Jewel never picked up on it so it is a special contact with Remmie we were happy to see. She is a contented sucker..only when she is relaxed does she do it.

We have 2 visitor dogs for 13 days of January so I have been busy with the camera since their arrival.

 Jewel (2004 litter), Mystic - Lab puppy, Sydney ( 2010 litter), Merlin - Black and white male Dal,  all wait for a bit of orange.

Diamond, our Dalmatian, will be 15 in March. She really appreciated these last few days of warmer weather! 

Jewel was enjoying the winter sun from the sofa arm  so I did a head study of her. She will be 10 in February.

 Jewel also enjoyed a romp in the snow on these warmer day and with our visiting dogs.
