Flashback to spring 2004

The two Vizsla pups are Jewel and Maggie born Feb 14, 2004 in May 2004 with their sire Remmie and our Dalmatians Mocha Bean and Paladin. 

Remmie invites his daughter Jewel to play with the toy. He was so wonderful with his pups and with other dogs.

December 2013, all the pups from that litter are doing well. Jewel has become Ch. Blackbullet Varazs Legacy, NAVHDA NA, number one female Vizsla in 2005, and mother to 3 litters born 2007, 2009 and 20010.  All the adult dogs in the photos have passed on but are remembered and loved in our wonderful memories of these times.

Visitors

September and October have been busy months here....above Jewel (2004 litter) and visitor Blaze play in October.

Jasmine and her grandpa Remmie start the play stances.

Jasmine from our 2007 litter, lives in BC but is with us for most of October - we are so lucky to have her. She is so much like her mother Jewel it is uncanny.

Magix and Merlin brought the joy of the Dalmatians to us in late September - they are so much fun.

Blaze visits from southern Alberta - he sucks his toys just like our Remmie..we love that and so many other things too, about him!

Happy 10th Birthday

Remmie loves to sit up with his front legs off the floor - his stretching method it seems.

A visiting GSP male wants to share Remmie's toy but Remmie is busy doing his toy suck thing.

Today we celebrate the 10th birthday of our wonderful Remmie - Am/Can Ch. Legacy's Leaps and Bounds.

Remmie is a wonderful companion with outstanding temperament with other dogs and the sire of two litters who have carried on his traits so well. Happy Birthday Remmie!!

Blaze plays

Our Remmie (2000, bred by Diane Shearer of Legacy Vizslas) and visitor Blaze (2008 bred by Sylvia Dorosh of Varazs Vizslas) above in our field.

Blaze, a typical 2 year old Vizsla, is having a great time running and jumping in the long field grasses. He also loves to suck soft toys..just like our Remmie...and play tug a war with other dogs. As an only dog at his house, he has had to learn that not all dog dishes are his, not all toys are his and not all laps are his alone..and with some gentle guideance on those things, he is getting along very well in the multi dog environment. We continue to love his conformation, attitude and personality! On his trip to the vet for his hip and elbow xrays, he greeted everyone with a wagging tail and everyone loved him.

Above Remmie (2000) surveys his world - his grandson was trying to get him to play and it looks to me like Remmie is trying to find a place of internal peace..or planning his next big play move!

Our daughter is arriving from her eastern USA home and we are celebrating her birthday and her 10 year anniversary since she moved to the USA to get her PhD post doc. and now is working there.

We have received some rain so if I could dance, I would!

The dogs are doing well and we are blessed Rufous staying with us one more week. Perhaps he will return later in the summer.

The months of disappointment

It looks life being flexible will be the characteristic required to get us through this spring and summer! Ultra sound showed no puppies on board from our Kati ( 2007) breeding. We will try again on her next cycle.

A meniscus tear is the issue with my knee. MRI will be used to confirm and then set a course for repair and recovery.

But on the good news side, Rufous (2007) remains with us and brings us such joy each day - such a lovely boy with wonderful temperament. He and his mother Jewel and Granddogs Amber and Remmie get along so well. In the photo, after pulling apart a toy, Jewel and Rufous work off some energy with a good play.

Vida comes to visit

Vida ( 2009 litter) greets her maternal Grandma Amber in the sweater (1998) and her maternal Grandpa Remmie (2000) joins in some toy play.

Two Visitors

Our visiting little girl loves to run and play but she can stand still for a moment too. We are having a great time watching her fill out and gain confidence.

Peter (2007 litter) is having a great time running and playing with toys and his dog family and then taking a break on the sofa with his Grandpa Remmie (2000).

3 generations

While our litter was here, we were lucky to have 3 generations able to participate in the fun. Remmie on the left is father to Jewel on the right who is mother to litter in the foreground.

Both adult dogs loved to play and teach the young ones how to be dogs. Remmie showed amazing patience as the pups try to climb his sides and as he engaged them in games of chase and catch.

It has been a very busy time with the arrival, raising and placement of our Vizsla litter.

We could not be happier however with our pups and with the placement homes. We thank each owner for sending us photos and keeping us updated on each pup's progress.

We have not forgotten our other owners either! We thank each of them for the updates on their dogs and photos of their activities.

• I want to wish a belated Happy Birthday to our wonderful Palidin from our 1995 litter. He remains such a wonderful companion and friend to us and to every dog he meets.

• Also a belated Happy Birthday to our equally wonderful Remmie who turned 9 years old this month. Sire to two litters and now grand sire to 2 litters, his great qualities are coming through in those dogs too.

We love you both more than words can express!
