Amy from our 2004 litter seems to really like her new friend!

Amy doesn't get hardly any hugging from her family it seems..lol. Amy is the soul of her home, a position and responsibility she takes seriously. She is a wonderful companion and hunting dog.

This and That

I am  sorry I have not been posting lately. Some of it is due to summer demands and  also due to  just not having enough spoons many days..those who understand spoon theory and chronic fatigue and pain will understand. I hope I am now on the  better side of those issues for a while and will be able to keep the blog more current. I thank everyone who has been looking at it and I hope this update is of interest to you.

 Amy from our February 14, 2004 litter in 2007  with a bird she located, pointed, held, flushed on command and retrieved to hand. 

In September 2015, Amy has recently shown she can still find,  point, hold and flush birds. Her owners are planning a few 1/2 day hunts with her to give her the thrill of the field again. She has been in training with longer runs and careful monitoring of her condition. Her owners report she has no quit in her even at this age.

Early in September my daughter and her boyfriend came for a short visit. We had a great time even though it rained almost every day they were here. It was hard to say good-bye. I always take some time to deal with the separation anxiety so to speak, when she leaves. 

Yesterday an urgent call alerted me to the needs of a dog of a friend of ours. She was in a boarding kennel and managed to break her canine and damage her mouth fairly badly on a chain link fence. Her family is in England so of course this is very stressful. I was able to pick her up after her surgery to remove the rest of the tooth. We will keep her with us for the next week  as she recovers and her family returns. I will take some current photos but for now the photos below of Rory's previous visits will make most people say awwwwwwwwww I think.

Amy on the run in Saskatchewan. Amy turned 11 in February and is enjoying an active life with her family. Thank you family for sharing this great moment with us.

this and that

Amy from our 2004 litter shares the water bowls with her Irish Wolfhound house mates.

We have had this cookie jar since 2000 when our Rex won it as part of the gifts for winning the Alberta Vizsla booster. I have relocated it in our house so I can look at it often and remember our wonderful boy.

Amy from our 2004 litter is looking great.

Amy shares her home with 2 Irish Wolfhounds. She remains the Queen of her home even with the difference in size. Her owners make sure she has her special times and places.

Jasmine from our 2007 litter is a a clown and lives in a wonderful family of females who adore her and where she is truely one of the girls.

Merlin is a wonderful Dalmatian who is Grandma's boy and came to stay for about 10 days of play and cuddles.

Up date bits and pieces

First, belated Happy Birthday on July 05 to our 2009 and 2012 litters!

We hope  you each received your birthday cards and had  a great day of celebration!

Amy from our 2004 litter ( Amber X Remmie) is her Dad's special girl. Recently her family started hatching and raising chicks and Amy is very much in love with the chicks!  She is a keen girl in the hunting field but seems to accept these birds as family.

Amy found days of camping and fishing followed  by a good nap to be much to her liking  in the 2 photos below taken on the long  July long weekend.

 JuJub  from our 2012 litter ( Kati 2 X Charlie) in her mad tracking dog pose is enjoying lots of great summer activities with her family.

Dock diving at the cottage is one of her favourite activities and she is very good at it.

JuJub and her Rhodesian Ridgeback sister Biscuit do the cinnamon cuddle..poor JuJub looks a little short of space but she makes the choice to be with her sister.

Angus from our 2012 litter (Kati2 X Charlie) shows off his 2nd Birthday celebration hat, toys and food treats. What a good boy he is to wait for those treats!  It looks like he has a great day.

Vizsla License plate

After years of waiting, this vanity vehicle license plate finally became available and one of our owners was able to get it! Amy from our 2004 litter seems very excited about it too. We don't know who has had it for the last 10 years but we know who has it now!

Pups

Amy from our 2004 litter welcomed another Irish Wolfhound to their home over the Christmas holidays. This pup's name is Keeva.

 Hailee from our 2010 litter celebrates Christmas at home above and with Santa below. 

Cayo was bred by a friend but we consider him one of ours. Below he relaxes in Thunder Bay in December 2013. Cayo is relocating to Texas in 2014. We will really miss that family!

Below Cayo joined Hailee from our 2010 litter and another Vizsla friend Coco for some winter romps in Thunder Bay in December 2013.

Amy and her puppy companion Simon

Amy (2004 litter) is finding comfort and companionship from Irish Wolfhound puppy Simon who recently joined their family.  He looks like he is reaching out to her for the same comfort.
This photo says more than words about how this new relationship is going. Thank you so much owners for sharing this experience with us through photos and reports..it means so much to us!

Amy is from our 2004 litter, littermate to our Jewel.  A few months ago she lost her fellow housemate Vizsla Seth, but now has a new housemate Irish Wolfhound pup named Simon. We hope they will soon develop a great relationship. Thank you so much owners for sharing this photo of their first days together.

Kaiser's OFA hip and elbow scores

• We are thrilled to hear Kaiser's (2007 litter) results from his hip and elbow xrays for the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals came back as hips Good and elbows Normal! He is the 7th pup in the litter to be done. Thank you so much owners!
• Our 2009 litter continues to thrive and Jewel is an amazing mother.
• Amy (2004 litter ) and Seth (2005 litter) are both reported to be doing very well. There is a chance we will get to see them this fall.
