Rufus has had a very hard last few weeks with the sudden and tragic loss of his owners and his lifetime home. It is nerve wrecking and so stressful worrying about him and
praying he can and will adjust to his new home and family.
I am so thankful he is in a loving family that
shares his daily activities and
challenges so we know what is going on. Also, it is helpful that the family
appreciates that he has a wonderful heart and spirit. He is so like his litter mates and his parents, so I
hope he can find a place in his life for the household cat; the final hurdle in his adjustment.
Once he is established in his new home ( hoping ), I will
ask permission to share some photos.
I cannot thank his co-owner and co-breeder Sylvia
Dorosh enough for all her help in
getting him from his original home, offering him sanctuary, getting his vet
information and check up, and working so
hard to secure him a place with a family. It would have been an even more
terrifying time without her help! Thank you also to Corrine Sellars who was able to offer him several
days of support and take him to meet his current family..again, the dog
family working together to ensure Rufus can find his soft place to land; I
don't know what I would do without your
help!
I await the message that states Rufus will be staying in his
new home but last word was it was 99.9% sure he was going to be able to stay
and that he is greatly loved and admired there.
Not everyone can help a dog that has been traumatized but those who have
that skill and desire are a rare and wonderful breed of human! Some will not
invest their time and hearts in an older dog but those who can and do, are
often rewarded with wonderful friends and companions.
These are photos of Rufus as a youngster although all
reports say he is a young at heart 9 1/2
year old now!
